Automobile Liability
In the Atlantic Provinces automobile and personal injury matters are governed by tort law. Many of our lawyers involve themselves in this area of law. We often deal with serious cases including head injury, fatalities, spinal cord injuries, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, post traumatic stress disorder, and other claims of a psychological nature.

Alternative Dispute Resolution
We are very conscious of the benefits of alternate dispute resolution and mediation. When possible we encourage clients to access these means of bringing a file to conclusion.

General Liability
Having one of the largest and most experienced contingents of insurance practitioners in Atlantic Canada, we have extensive experience in virtually all categories of insurance.

Marine Insurance
We act on behalf of insurers in defending claims under hull, cargo and PANDI policies including related coverage issues for ship repair and liability policies. Our marine insurance litigation practice ranges from collision claims to claims arising out of defective machinery and equipment.

Products Liability
We are very active in product liability claims. Our lawyers provide insurers with guidance in adjusting and investigating these claims, and if necessary, assuming the conduct of the defence as they proceed to litigation.

Professional Liability
We have a long history of defending professional liability claims, involving insurance agents and brokers, engineers, accountants, architects, lawyers and various health professionals.

Property Damage
Members of our insurance litigation group regularly act on first party claims involving issues including insurable interest, misrepresentation, valuations, intentional acts, arson and fraud.
